Yes we do require a referral from your GP, partly because it is essential that you are referred by GP to ensure you are seeing a specialist for the right reasons and also Medicare will rebate at a higher rate.
- GP Referral.
- Scans if applicable.
- Pap smear results and any other pathology results in relation to your condition.
Yes we accept all cards including Amex and Diners cards. We have pay pass facilities.
We allow for 40 minutes for a new consultation, however sometimes more time is needed. We ensure that we get as much information before your appointment so that we can allow the right amount of time.
No, unless your consultation takes place in hospital your private health insurance is for hospital cover, so you must be admitted as an inpatient for this to be applicable. Some overseas private cover will rebate a patient for an out of hospital consultation.
Yes we can do your Medicare rebate for you. Generally you should have the rebate in your account within 48 hours providing you have your bank details registered with Medicare. If you do not, they will send you a cheque in the mail.
At Northside Gynaecology we offer consults at both locations. Kedron is our main office and then Dr Archna Saraswat visits North Lakes on a Monday. Generally we can fit all new patient’s in within the timeframe required. If you are concerned that you need to be seen sooner please contact us to discuss and we will happily see what arrangements we can make for you.

If you need a small procedure in rooms, then you need to let us know. We will be able to arrange the appointment for this and advise you of the likely costs associated with this. We have many patient information sheet’s and can email or post these to you prior to your appointment.
If however you need a surgical procedure in hospital we are here to help, whether you are uninsured or insured we can assist with all aspects of this.
